A 5k walk around Hyde Park last Saturday morning was my next opportunity to enjoy a brisk walk around one of London’s premier landmarks in aid of the British Heart Foundation.
We were a mixed bunch on the day, with all sorts of stories to tell but with one aim, to raise awareness and hope our efforts would make a difference. Together, we had raised a massive £45,000 and for myself, with the help and support of many of you back at the clinic and my family, had raised a whopping £334, some £234 more than I had originally pledged on my registration form.
WHAT BIG HEARTS YOU HAVE! YOUR KIND WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT MEANT SO MUCH ON THE DAY.
My time of 58:11 wasn’t sensational but I’d like to think that this event has given me a benchmark for improvement in the future. Chiropractic care really has made a huge difference to my life. Of course we all want to attain ‘peak performance’ throughout our lives but inevitably, the aging process forces us to regularly reassess our true potential. The support from Dr Luke, Dr Danny and rest of the team has enabled me to look beyond my comfort zone and try that little bit harder to go the extra mile. By taking another ‘scary’ leap forward, I have found not only my physical health improving but also my mental health changing, by positively striving towards the next level.
Try it sometime. Avoiding the word ‘can’t’ and changing it to ‘can do’ really can make a difference, whatever our age!!
Love and Hugs
